The Grounding Flow: A 17-Minute Mindful Movement Practice for Stressful Days

Reconnect with your body through a gentle 17-minute grounding flow with seven poses, affirmations, chair options, and beginner modifications.

Sometimes your body is asking for movement. Other times, it is asking you to stop treating every moment like an emergency.

The Grounding Flow is a gentle mind-body practice for women who have spent the day solving problems, meeting deadlines, carrying responsibilities, and pushing their own needs further down the list.

This is not a workout you have to conquer. It is an opportunity to notice your breathing, reconnect with your body, and remember that your worth is not determined by how much you accomplished today.

Mindful movement is not another performance

The objective is not to achieve the deepest stretch, hold every position for the full time, or silence every thought.

Mindful movement is the practice of noticing what is happening without immediately judging, fixing, or overriding it. Some days, grounding will look like the whole flow. Some days, it will look like sitting in mountain pose for one minute and breathing. Both count.

Rest is part of the practice

The pose is supposed to support your body. Your body is not supposed to suffer for the pose. Use the wall, hold the chair, support your knees, keep your eyes open, or leave the position early.

Rest is not something you have to earn after completing every item on your list.

Continue the practice

One grounding flow can create a meaningful pause. A daily collection of supportive practices can help you build a new rhythm.
